Preamble

Placanica in hospital
Another problem we have analysed is the time when Placanica and Raffone arrive in hospital. The official version is that they were treated between 6:50 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., or more precisely, that Dario Raffone was treated at 6:50 p.m. and Mario Placanica at 8 p.m. Why did it take so long to get to the Galliera hospital from piazza Alimonda, which is quarter of an hour's drive from the former? An interview with Carola Giordano reveals a previously unknown fact which is particularly disquieting.
Intervista a Carola Giordano [4.41 minuti]

Carola declares that she is certain that Placanica arrived at the hospital at about 5:40 p.m., but no later than that time, and that he was on a Defender which was behind an Alfa Romeo car containing 5-6 carabinieri , One of the carabinieri leant down to unbuckle something from Placanica's body, probably, as one can see from this photo , proprio il cinturone della pistola.

Carola's version of the time seems trustworthy as she says that after taking the pictures she made her way to piazza Alimonda, where Carlo was still lying on the ground. This means that she must have arrived in piazza Alimonda before 6:50 p.m., as the timer on the camera used to shoot the film belonging to Solo Limoni shows that Carlo's body was taken away at about 7 p.m. What happened between 5:40 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the hospital? Did it take an hour to treat a wound which was judged to be healable in seven days? What time did Raffone -whose wound was judged to be healable in eight days - arrive? Raffone does not appear in C. Giordano's photos and he was treated at the same hospital. If he was not there with Placanica, why were the two separated if both needed to be treated? If Raffone was there even though there are no photos of him, why does no-one dedicate any attention to him whilst all the carabinieri and doctors crowd around Placanica in all three of Carola Giordano's photos?
Another important fact which still lacks an answer is evident from Carola Giordano's photos.
As one can see from this photo , at the hospital Placanica gets out of a jeep in which there is quite a large blood stain on the back of the driver's headrest. The stain is circular and its centre is empty, so that it looks rather like a halo. As one can see from this other photo,

the headrest of the Defender in piazza Alimonda is clean. Is the jeep at the hospital a different one from the one which was in piazza Alimonda? However, this photo shows that the jeep which took Placanica to the hospital also has a broken rear window like the one in piazza Alimonda.

Another coincidence? This could be the case, but, on the other hand, why should someone have decided to switch vehicles to take Placanica to the hospital? And if Placanica and the others on board had to leave the jeep so that it could be analysed, for example, why wasn't an ambulance called? Common sense induces us to believe that the blood on the headrest belongs to Placanica, but it cannot have been spilt during the attack as all the pictures we have deny this. Can we believe that someone made Placanica lean his wounded head against the seat on purpose? This hypothesis may be plausible, especially if, as one can clearly see from this photo , there was a first aid kit on the jeep, which, strangely enough, was not used to bandage Placanica's head. This hypothesis may also explain the halo-shaped stain. ?
