Cavataio's responsibilities
Another important, and rather obscure, point concerns the degree of responsibility for what happened which can be attributed to Cavataio, the driver of Placanica's Defender. As is evident from the films and photos we have analysed (
galleria 01 -
galleria 02),when the jeep passes over Carlo's body he is still alive, and he is still alive afterwards, as one can surmise from the blood being pumped out of his head from the bullet-hole under his left eye
(link a Carlo sangue). The official autopsy, however, declared that Carlo was already dead when he was run over by the jeep. Cavataio says that he did not realise what had happened because he was wearing a gas mask. However, from a photo we possess
it appears to be the case that Cavataio is lying and that he was not wearing a gas mask. It is also hard to believe that in such a delicate situation the officers in charge would have left the decisions to the driver of the car. Who ordered the jeep to stop and then set off again, and why? Who was actually in charge on that jeep?
From the videos one can note that the vehicle is moving at the beginning of the attack, and that it then stops, as though the driver had received an order.

After the shots are fired the jeep drives off extremely rapidly. The official autopsy has also established that there were no bone fractures in Carlo's small, frail body subsequent to being run over by a very heavy vehicle. Is this credible? Carlo Govoni, a doctor and the Giuliani family's medical expert in the judiciary inquiry, though he cannot describe the details of the affair, asserts that it is not possible that a body does not show the consequences of being run over be a Defender.

In all the photos of Carlo's body after he is run over and those which were taken when he was being measured and turned over by the police, Carlo's pelvis is in a strange position, which is not in line with his spinal chord. Both his feet are also turned outwards, a rather unnatural position, as though his pelvis had been crushed.
Notwithstanding all this, Cavataio has not been accused of anything by the judiciary and there are no judiciary or disciplinary measures being taken against him.
